Dieffenbachia, commonly known as dumb cane or leopard lily, is a genus of tropical flowering plants in the family Araceae. It is native to the New World Tropics from Mexico and the West Indies south to Argentina.
Dieffenbachia's are very popular indoor plants due to their attractive foliage, which can range from solid green to variegated patterns of white, yellow, and green.
They can grow up to six feet tall in their native environment, but in indoor settings that typically grow to a maximum height of three to four feet. To get the best results from your plant, place in a bright room with indirect sunlight, keep soil moist, but well-drained, and keep them from getting too cold as they are sensitive to cold temperatures and dry air.
The leaves of Dieffenbachia contain calcium oxalate crystals, which can be toxic if ingested, so care should be taken when handling the plant.
Dieffenbachia plants are low-maintenance, visually appealing indoor plant that can thrive in a variety of indoor environments.
Your Dieffenbachia comes beautifully presented in one of our modern white ceramic pot.
